Holiday Candle Magick
They are a massive amount of spells to choose from on traditional holidays for Pagans and Wiccans. To list each holiday, and each spell, would take a lot of time, since many Wiccans and Pagans pick and choose which holidays to celebrate, and which spells to celebrate them with. Here are a few of my favorites, listed below.
New Year’s Eve:
Choose seven candles, selecting the colors from our color chart based on the good luck and fortune you wish for in the coming year. On New Year’s Eve, in the evening, burn them down completely, and all simultaneously, for good fortune in the New Year.
To see a vision of the New Year, light a purple candle on both the left and right sides of a mirror. Five minutes before Midnight of the New Year, look into the mirror and wait for the clock to strike the New Year.
To increase beauty, into the New Year, wash your face in well water at midnight, then gaze at your reflection in a mirror for a few moments by candle light.
New Year’s Day:
Burn a few thin bayberry tapers all the way down, to increase good luck and fortune in your home.
February 2nd – Imbolc, Candlemas, or Groundhog Day:
Turn all the lights, and the electricity off in your home. The to signify a welcoming to the sun, warmth, and spring to your home, go through the house and light a candle in each room.
Making A Gift of a Candle:
The best present to a witch is a candle, so candles are the leading gifts from witches and practitioners, to witches and practitioners, –as well as to the more religiously monotonous among the family of a witch. However, a gift of a candle to a witch, from a witch he or she doesn’t know, should be taken cautiously. If you’ve got doubts about said witch, dip the candle in salt water to dissolute any negative vibes or spells. Then bless the candle yourself to counteract any lingering negativity. Before giving a candle as a gift to any witch, or even a vanilla family member, bless it. Here’s how:
Hold the candle in your hands in front of you, and take several deep, relaxing breaths. Visualize the candle glowing with a gentle, but bright white light. Connect spiritually, and mentally to your own spiritual focus, –or to the spiritual masculine, feminine deity, and concentrate on blessing the candle. Imagine that your gift captures the perfection of the Universe, and say aloud:
“Perfect love and perfect peace
The world will dance as one.
I dream the wish to make it real,
The magic now is done.”
Seal the blessing by making an equal armed cross (+), in the air above the candle.
